1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Ethos Method mobile application for iOS and Apple Watch (the “App”) and related services we provide.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Subscriptions: We do not operate our own login inside the App. Purchases are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We receive only what Apple provides to validate subscription status and restore purchases as needed.
- Support: If you contact us, we collect the information you send (for example, your email address and message content).
2.2 Training data and preferences
We process information you generate in the App, including:
- Exercises, sets, reps, timing-related fields, session dates, and similar workout details;
- Settings such as your weekly schedule, volume targets, rest preferences, and related configuration;
- Summaries used for features like charts, planning, and “today’s workout” state.
This information is stored on your device and may sync using Apple’s iCloud services (including CloudKit and related iCloud features) when you are signed in to iCloud and sync is enabled. Apple’s handling of that data is described in Apple’s policies.
2.3 Apple Watch and Apple Health
If you use Apple Watch features and grant permission, the App may use HealthKit-related functionality on Apple Watch to support workout sessions (for example, recording a workout and related metrics as you allow). We do not use Health data for advertising. Health data is subject to Apple’s Health app / HealthKit rules and your device settings.
2.4 Automatic / technical information
As of the Effective Date above, we do not embed third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the App.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App (logging, planning, charts, sync, and in-app backup features);
- Validate subscriptions and restore purchases through Apple;
- Respond to support requests and send important service-related notices;
- Comply with law and protect the rights, safety, and security of users and us.
4. Legal bases (EEA / UK, if applicable)
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on contract (to run the App), legitimate interests (for example security and product improvement, where not overridden by your rights), and consent where required (such as Health permissions). You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With Apple as needed for the App Store, In-App Purchases, iCloud/CloudKit, and Health-related flows you authorize;
- With service providers who assist us (for example website or email hosting), under confidentiality and appropriate safeguards;
- When required by law, or to protect users, us, or others.
6. Retention
We keep information only as long as needed to operate the App and for legitimate business purposes, including security and legal compliance. Data on your device and in your iCloud account is also controlled through your device and Apple ID settings. Files you export and store outside the App are your responsibility.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. International users
If you use the App from outside , your information may be processed in and in other countries where we or our providers operate.
10. Your choices and rights
- Manage iCloud, Health permissions, and subscriptions in your device Settings and Apple ID account.
- Use in-app export/import where available to manage your own copies of data.
- Use the support contact form to contat us to exercise privacy rights where applicable.
11. Third-party links
The App or our websites do not link to third-party sites or services.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and change the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as required by law.
